Congratulations to the SMU Student-Athletes Honored For Academic Achievements

SMU Athletics Originally Posted: April 23, 2018 DALLAS (SMU) – SMU bestowed 35 academic honors on 24 student-athletes representing 11 varsity sports programs. The women's swimming and diving team and equestrian team led all programs with five honorees. Eki Olumese, a senior on the rowing team, garnered six honors including Rhodes Scholar finalist. One of three members of the rowing program recognized, Olumese is a Gates Cambridge Scholar finalist, a Hamilton Undergraduate Research Scholar, the Robert and Nancy Dedman Outstanding Senior Student, an Outstanding Senior Student in Health and Society and a Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society inductee. SMU Forum Originally Posted: December 7, 2017 The SMU community will celebrate 2017 December Commencement Convocation on Saturday, Dec. 16. Kenneth A. Hersh, president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, will give the address. Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. in Moody Coliseum with a student and faculty procession. Doors to the staging area in Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports will open at 8:30 a.m. Processional groups begin forming at 9:15 a.m.; doors close at 9:40 a.m. The faculty should assemble in academic dress no later than 9:40 a.m. in the Champions Club. On Friday, Dec. 15, undergraduate candidates will participate in Rotunda Recessional. Candidates should wear SMU regalia and begin lining up at 5:15 p.m. at the flagpole on the Main Quad.
