The Family Place will present the Texas Trailblazer Award to civic leader Lynn McBee at a luncheon benefit on Oct. 6.
As chair of the Family Place Foundation, McBee has led the campaign to finance the agency’s new, expanded headquarters and shelter for battered women and children. Unveiled last month, the complex is set to begin receiving residents on July 24.
“She helped us reach a pinnacle we’d never achieved before, raising almost $17 million in under two years,” said CEO Paige Flink. “And she does so much for the whole city. She works 20 hours a day, I think.” READ MORE
