Join Dr. Cornelis Potgieter (Statistics) for a tutorial providing an overview of some of the tools often used in statistical analysis. These tools include methods of parameter estimation and statistical inference, methods which can often be formulated using a minimum distance framework. The notions of parametric and nonparametric statistics will be introduced and discussed in the context of this minimum distance framework. Several examples to illustrate the methods will be discussed.
