The Senior Source will give Jan and Fred Hegi the 2016 Spirit of Generations Award at its annual luncheon Nov. 14 at the Hilton Anatole hotel.
Well known for civic engagement at the highest levels, the couple has jointly chaired Southern Methodist University’s Annual Fund and the President’s Research Council at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Each has also led the board of Interfaith Housing Coalition.
In addition, Fred Hegi is a trustee of SMU, Communities Foundation of Texas, AT&T Center for the Performing Arts and the Chancellor’s Executive Council of the University of Texas System. He’s an honorary trustee of Southwestern Medical Foundation.
Jan Hegi co-founded The Stewpot Alliance and is active in Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association, SMU alumni, First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, the Dallas Woman’s Club and the Dallas Garden Club.
Fred Hegi is a founding partner of Wingate Partners private equity fund, and Jan Hegi is a former educator.
The Senior Source will also present an inaugural service award to George Dunham for raising awareness and funds for its cause through his role on KTCK Sportsradio The Ticket (1310 AM/96.7 FM).
The Senior Source expects to triple the number of elderly citizens it assists every year to 90,000 by 2020.
