Welcome to the official blog for SMU’s 2013 Common Reading: The Other Wes Moore! The blog was created to foster online discussion between faculty, staff and students as you experience the story behind The Other Wes Moore, One Name, Two Fates.
As the incoming class of 2017 you will receive the book during the summer at AARO and should read it before you arrive for the start of the fall semester. Faculty, staff and returning students have already begun reading and discussing the book in preparation for small-group conversations you will participate in before the Rotunda Passage and Opening Convocation on August 25th. And most importantly, your first-year writing courses will use the book as part of the curriculum for the fall semester.

We encourage you to leave comments and pose question on this blog. To help you get started, we have included thought-provoking ethical questions on our Common Reading site. Be the first to respond to the questions and share your thoughts with us!
Happy Reading,

I think this is great, but is there a way we could get professors to post their POVs on here from their field of study?
Great suggestion! We’ll actually be posting professors POVs in the coming weeks. Until then, you should check out the three perspectives we’ve posted on the website.
Happy Reading,
Candy
