From the National Weather Service: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue mainly across north and northwest parts of the region through midday. By Fridayafternoon, additional scattered storms are expected with a severe threat mainly east of I-35. Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage overnight Friday with most areas seeing some rainfall. There is a low threat for a few severe storms during the overnight hours, but locally heavy rainfall will be the main threat.

Here are some safety measures to take during a tornado warning, depending upon your location:
- Go into a building and find a safe room or designated Tornado Shelter Areas
- If a designated space is not available:
- Go to the lowest possible level in a building
- Move away from glass windows, exterior walls and doors
- Move to hallways that are at the center or most interior part of the building
- Move to restrooms without an exterior wall
