A Tornado Watch is in place for Dallas County until 11 p.m.

Overview

  • A messy weather scenario is expected Sunday where storms will form in multiple areas in association with an advancing dryline and an advancing warm front.
  • A mix of supercells and clusters of storms is expected Sunday and all modes of severe weather will be possible: large hail, damaging winds, and maybe a few tornadoes.
  • Storms are expected to develop around midday or early afternoon across western portions of North Texas and parts of Central Texas.
    • Coverage will increase through the afternoon and early evening hours.
    • All activity will be moving to the east and exit our area later this evening.
  • Localized flooding may be possible due to heavy rainfall and several storms moving over isolated areas.

Looking ahead:

  • There is a low potential for a few severe storms capable of producing hail along the dryline on Monday afternoon. The dryline is currently forecasted to be located near/along the I-35 corridor. Keep up with forecast updates for Monday afternoon.
  • Elevated to high fire weather conditions are expected behind the dryline west of I-35 on Monday and Tuesday.

There is also a potential for severe storms across areas east of I-35 on Tuesday

Remember, there is a difference between a watch and a warning
