2016-17 Partner Survey Results

The Budd Center’s collective impact model drives The School Zone. Our model systematically and strategically integrates the essential components of collaborative leadership, systems thinking, equity practices, evidence-based interventions and data-mindedness.

The School Zone’s Partner Survey results provide indicators of the efficacy of our collective impact efforts – work that is not straightforward and requires thoughtful and strategic facilitation by The Budd Center. The Partner Survey provides evidence that The Budd Center’s model is creating positive outcomes for our partners and the West Dallas community in three primary areas: capacity building, collective impact; professional development and networking.

Capacity Building
Partner survey results indicate that TSZ is building capacity among our partners.

  • 82% report increased intention to implement evidence-based programming.
  • 87% report that TSZ has helped them improve the quality of the services provided to families and or students.
  • 86% report that TSZ has helped them match the services provided with the needs of specific students.
  • 75% report that TSZ has helped them match students and/or families to other resources in the community.
  • 48% report that they use school performance data to make individual student and programmatic decisions at least monthly, in comparison to 27% in 2015-16.

Collective Impact
Partner survey results indicate that TSZ partners’ implementation of foundational components of collective impact and PLCs continues to deepen, with solid gains in implementation and content knowledge growth made during the 2016-17 school year.96% report that they believe TSZ can make a greater collective impact than individual organizations working in isolation.

  • 96% report that there is a growing sense of responsibility with TSZ partners to collectively change outcomes for students.
  • 95% report that the PLC embraces its shared mission and vision.
  • 90% report that they collaborate with other TSZ partners at least quarterly; 67% report that they collaborate with other TSZ partners at least monthly.
  • 84% report that TSZ partners collect data and share results, in comparison to 66% in 2014-15.

Professional Development and Networking
According to TSZ partners, The Budd Center’s leadership, professional development, and networking is increasing in its effectiveness and impact.

  • 100% report that TSZ is beneficial in the development of valuable relationships.
  • 94% report that The Budd Center’s professional development is beneficial in assisting them in improving school and nonprofit performance.
  • 100% report that The Budd Center is advantageous in the acquisition of useful knowledge about services, programs, and/or people in the community.
  • 96% report trust, respect, and positive professional relationships are developing between TSZ partners.
  • 100% report that the topics at TSZ’s large group meetings and PLCs are relevant.
  • 94% report that The Budd Center provides effective professional development on interpreting and using data.
  • 94% report that The Budd Center’s leadership is responsive to community needs and intentionally seeks others’ views.

In contrast, the survey revealed areas of continued growth and improvement such as: (a) the need for more accountability and participation from all partners, (b) clarity of TSZ’s goals, (c) more opportunities for networking among TSZ partners, and (d) continued opportunities for professional development in the areas of research-based interventions and data-mindedness.
