SMU Alumni Board Nominee Application

SMU Alumni Board Nominee Application

The SMU Alumni Board is a group of peer-selected leaders who champion the University’s mission and accomplishments among our SMU network. Its mission is to galvanize alumni everywhere to connect to SMU and one another.
.

Board Structure

SMU relies on the Alumni Board to provide input on strategies it develops to engage, re-engage and further engage its base toward financial support.

The Alumni Board is divided into three subcommittees, each charged with components of our strategy of engagement:

  1. The Alumni Board Planning Committee: Responsibilities include DAA research, recruiting alumni board members, and helping drive attendance to premiere events such as DAA. A new task will involve taking an active role in guiding chapter leaders with their annual event and engagement plans in each region.
  2. The Volunteer Engagement Committee: Serve as liaisons to all affinity groups and volunteer programs, and they encourage alumni to use the online career platform. They will also be tasked with actively identifying and sharing alumni stories more broadly.
  3. Mustangs Give Back Committee: Members serve as social ambassadors and recruit other alumni to be social ambassadors for the giving effort. They will take a larger role in serving as champions for SMU Giving Day and Crowdfunding Challenges. They will also be tasked with helping to provide messages about each challenge.
