Games, Sims, and Other Software:
Virtual Reality in the Classroom
Monday, October 15
Fondren Library West, Room 103C
3:00-4:00

Beyond Blackboard and other multi-media applications to enhance teaching and learning lies another horizon: the application of online games, interactive simulations, and other experiences in virtual reality. Virtual worlds such as Second Life and Factory Mogul are becoming popular not only as class projects, but as classrooms where students and faculty routinely meet. Join us as our panel shows examples and discusses the pros and cons of this new educational genre. Hosted by: Peter Raad/Guildhall, Jay Sullivan/Art, Ulrika Schultze/ITOM, and Maria Dixon/CCPA.
