Christopher González

Christopher González is a renowned scholar and professor of English at Southern Methodist University, where he holds the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Endowed Chair. With expertise in 20th century American literature, multiethnic literatures, film, comics, and narrative theory, Christopher is the author, co-author, and editor of numerous books, including Reel Latinxs, which won the 2020 International Latino Book Award, and Permissible Narratives, awarded Honorable Mention for the 2019 Perkins Prize for the most significant contribution to narrative studies. His most recent book is his memoir, Big Scary Brown Guy. His commitment to diversity and representation in literature and media is reflected in his work, research, and teaching. Christopher earned his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, where he was affiliated with the world-famous Project Narrative.

Erin Murrah-Mandril

Erin Murrah-Mandril earned her Ph.D. at the University of New Mexico. She is an Associate professor of English and a core faculty member of the Center for Mexican American Studies. Her research focuses on Mexican American literary recovery and literary history, and she teaches American literature and Mexican American Studies courses. Her book, In the Mean Time: The Temporal Colonization of Mexican America (University of Nebraska Press, 2020), examines the ways Mexican American authors navigated the colonizing force of U.S. time in the late twentieth and early twenty-first century.
