Amanda Presmyk

Amanda Presmyk is a Hunt and Meadows scholarship recipient. Through these awards, she has been able to participate in amazing things like going to Taos, attending Tate Lectures, even meeting former President George W. Bush. Through the Meadows Scholars program she had access to a number of art events in Dallas that she wouldn’t have otherwise. She has also met some of her closest friends through these scholarship programs and became head of the Student Filmmakers Association (SFA) as just a sophomore.

When asked why do you believe alumni should continue their generosity towards assisting students at SMU in the form of gifts to scholarships? She responded, “If you look back on your years at SMU with any sort of nostalgia, then you can remember how incredible it is to be on the Boulevard, going to classes with great professors, surrounded by incredible friends, and every day being presented with amazing opportunities. There are a lot of really deserving students who without the help of scholarships would never be able to experience this.”
