Thursday, March 29, 2012 (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)Meadows Museum (map)
The 2012 Jno. E. Owens Memorial Foundation Conference will bring together scholars and policy experts to discuss current thinking on whether emerging markets will continue to boost world growth and open their market structures and regulartory regimes over the coming years. The conference will focus on Brazil, Russia, India, and China and explore the following questions: What changes have we seen from them over the past five years? Will these and other important changes continue over the next five years? Can we expect rapid further convergence of income levels or are these countries more likely to experience episodic growth? Should we be concerned that the rich world depends so much on the continued growth and opening of these emerging economies?
