Tower Center Board Room, Room 227, Carr Collins Hall (map)
In the early days of the Trump administration, we have already seen some points of departure from later-term Obama practices regarding counter-terrorism. What approach will President Trump take over the long term? And how will the counter-ISIL campaign inform or confound that effort?
Join us for a discussion over lunch at the Tower Center March 28 with Erin Simpson!
Dr. Erin M Simpson is the Founder and CEO of Archer Avenue Consulting, working at the intersection of data science, intelligence, and national security. Most recently, she worked as CEO of Caerus Associates where she led research programs for DoD clients analyzing megacities, developing cyber-defense tools, and applying social science research and big data analytics to campaign assessments in Afghanistan.
She was previously an Asst. Prof. of National Security Affairs at the Marine Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA, where she coordinated a two-week capstone planning exercise leveraging traditional and operational design techniques. Simpson also served a counterinsurgency advisor in Afghanistan under Generals McChrystal and Petraeus, working with multiple forward deployed headquarters. She has lectured widely on intelligence and irregular warfare, including at DARPA, the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU), Defense Intelligence Agency, MIT’s Lincoln Labs, Google Ideas, the Patterson School, Georgetown, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Simpson holds a PhD in Political Science from Harvard University and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Kansas.
