Faculty and Staff of the Temerlin Advertising Institute spent August 20, 2013 with Publicis Dallas for their annual departmental retreat. The event happens once a year at different agencies in Dallas allowing for relationships between the Institute and Dallas professionals to be formed and to grow stronger. According to Dr. Steven M. Edwards, Director of the Temerlin Advertising Institute, “The exchange of ideas is invaluable and is one of the key success points to the cutting edge curriculum of the advertising program at SMU.”
Agency professionals typically spend the morning presenting the background of the agency, their vision and work as well as discussing any challenges facing the business. This time is followed by breakout sessions to examine trends and opportunities. After a nice lunch at a local restaurant it is back to work with faculty brainstorming on the year ahead and planning for enhancements to curriculum and other value adding initiatives from workshops to high profile sponsored events.
The experience at Publicis Dallas this year was outstanding with the likes of Sue, Shon, Ros, Steve and a slew of other talented people giving of their time to share their knowledge and insights with us. We look forward to a long relationship with the agency and share in the mutual goal of wanting to help grow the next generation of industry professionals and the Dallas advertising industry.
