Temerlin Advertising Institute professors Cheryl Mendenhall and Dev Gupta will be taking 10 of TAI’s creative advertising students to New York City May 5 – 9 to participate in The One Show, which is part of the city’s annual Creative Week.
The One Show is considered one of the most prestigious awards shows in advertising, and it’s coveted Pencil award has been the ultimate achievement in many creatives’ careers. Every year, a panel of 30 creatives from around the world gather for a week and judge nearly 20,000 entries in categories including print, television, billboards and radio. Only the best of the best make the cut—Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils are given out to fewer than 100 entries every year.
Current TAI senior, Monika Hoang, will receive one of these coveted Pencil awards for her “Guantanamo by the Numbers” infographic during The One Show’s Young Ones awards on Tuesday, May 7. Ms. Hoang will also be recognized for two other pieces of work, “The Global Refugee Crisis” and “Comparing Values,” both of which she received a merit for.
TAI creative students who will be attending the festival include Paul Curry, Kevin Do, Benjamin (Taylor) Foran, Monika Hoang, Nicole Hodges, Alex Jarzemsky, Mackenzie Keck, Sarah Mamlouk, Katie Sarah Roberts, and Gabe Towels.
