Last weekend, Sarah Crookston-Henriod attended the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) Regional Conference in El Paso, Texas. Prior to the Conference, Sarah was able to visit 12 schools in the El Paso area, including elementary, middle, and high schools, to inform current teachers about the exciting degrees and certification programs that are offered through the Simmons School of Education and Human Development in the Department of Teaching and Learning at SMU.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Joyce Juntune, from Texas A&M University, who spoke passionately about rethinking gifted programs. While attending the (lowercase) conference Sarah spoke with a diverse group individuals interested in attending the Simmons School is some type of capacity.
The conference was a success and the Department of Teaching and Learning is always excited to be a part of the conversation surrounding the unique needs of gifted and talented students.Share on Facebook
