ExcELS Grant
November 26, 2013
Educators from selected partner districts (Dallas ISD, Mesquite ISD, Irving ISD and Forney ISD) may apply to receive a scholarship towards the ExcELs Program which includes 3-4 selected non-degree seeking graduate level courses at SMU. The goal is to extend their knowledge of effective pedagogy and research-based principles for the teaching of English Learners.
- Educators enter as part of a cohort in the fall semester and complete one academic year including the first summer semester.
- Educators participate in professional development workshops featuring experts and practitioners providing the latest research on practical educational methods.
- Educators may apply for the two week long Summer Immersion Program to further their educational experience.
