Primrose School of Preston Hollow Seeks Experienced Infant Teacher

Qualifications:

  • Ability to relate positively with young children.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position with a public or private school system, a quality preschool, child care center or church nursery is required.
  • Knowledge of (through studies or work experience) the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a class of children and assessing each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Plans with the Director and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials.
  • Plans with the Director all required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration and decision-making by the children.
  • Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides the parents with an overview of the material taught in class.
  • Provides the children with verbal praise and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom activities (including diapering in younger classrooms).
  • Maintains the Primrose Schools professional attitude and work behavior.
  • Assists in other capacities as determined by the Director.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions as determined by the Director.

Inspire Girls To Take On The World’s Greatest Challenges! Girlstart is seeking MULTIPLE college-age STEM CREW (Creative, Resourceful, Empowered Women) leaders to teach in our after-school programs in the Mansfield & Grand Prairie area. Girlstart’s mission is to increase girls’ interest and engagement in STEM through innovative, nationally recognized informal STEM education programs. We accomplish this by developing innovative models and processes for teaching STEM and delivering STEM and STEM integrated education programs. Girlstart’s after school program provides 4th & 5th grade girls with a fun, free STEM enrichment program that builds confidence and encourages them to pursue paths to higher education and discover greater career opportunities. Our programs meet once a week for an hour immediately after the school day. This is a great opportunity to work directly with elementary school girls on hands-on science, engineering, technology, and math activities. The Horizons Fellowship

The Horizons Fellowship

The Horizons Fellowship supports 10 outstanding university students in their pursuit to become leaders in technology.  The program provides immersive software engineering and web/mobile development courses geared towards high-achieving college students.  Students need not have a computer science background!  Our curriculum, developed by ex-Salesforce and Optimizely engineers alongside PhDs in computer science, is designed to teach students how to build web, mobile, and desktop applications.  We have 4-month semester programs and 3-month summer programs in cities across the U.S.

The Horizons Mentor Network includes current/past employees of firms such as Google, Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, Snapchat, and more.  As a Horizons student/graduate, you will have permanent access to this exceptional group of mentors to help with career choices, general mentorship, and more.
