An update from Megan, SMU Fashion Week coordinator and editor of SMUStyle:

Fashion Journalism and Blogging Panel (from left) Tracy Achor Hayes, Kristie Ramirez, Tina Craig, Merritt Beck and Amber Venz

As soon as I heard about SMU Fashion Week, I knew I wanted to be on board. With the introduction of the fashion media minor and the first Fashion Week, it’s so exciting to see the fashion presence growing on campus. I have really enjoyed connecting students at SMU with professionals in the fashion industry.

Since the beginning of the school year, I have been imagining how the events of the week were going to play out, and so far everything has surpassed my imagination.

Vintage Mobile was located at the Flagpole throughout the day, and I am looking forward to another chance to shop on the bus tomorrow. The Vendor Fair in the lobby of Owen Fine Arts Center featured clothes from Piermarini Boutique, Lilly Pulitzer, Blinc, Strut and Rent The Runway.

The Fashion Journalism and Blogging Panel, which took place last night in O’Donnell Hall, was a huge success. The panel featured Amber Venz of VenzEdits.com; Tina Craig of BagSnob.com; Merritt Beck of The Style Scribe; Tracy Achor Hayes, the creative director of the Neiman Marcus Book; and Kristie Ramirez, style editor of Texas Monthly.
