An update from Julia, SMU Fashion Week Design Director:
SMU students, faculty, and guests gathered outside the Meadows School of the Arts for the final Fashion Week event, Retail Club’s Annual Fashion Show. Chairs, Fashion Week Survival Bags, and the Fashion Week print issue lined the red runway. SMU students modeled looks from the shak at Stanley Korshak, styled by the Fashion Week Executive Team. The show was divided into style sections reflecting student needs, including fashions for class, the Boulevard, and formal events. The DJ, student moderators, and digital photo booth added to the energy.
Guests of Fashion Week received the Fashion Week Survival Bag at Monday’s launch party at Tootsies and at Friday’s show. From Fashion Week 2012, we hope students gained insight on valuable courses and internships to help them prepare for a career in fashion journalism, marketing, styling, designing, and retail.
The Fashion Week Executive Team, consisting of 11 students, produced and the designed all events and promotional materials. Thank you to SMU and to our sponsors: the shak at Stanley Korshak, SMUStyle, D stylesheet, D ShopTalk, Tootsies, and Carter Blood Care.
