An update from Kelsey, public relations director for SMU Fashion Week, and a sophomore CCPA major, with a minor in fashion media:

I can’t believe SMU Fashion Week is finally here! I remember getting the first information email back in September, and now this week all of our planning will be put to the test.

I am especially excited about the kick-off party tonight because I was a public relations director for the SMU FW board. A key part of public relations is getting the word out and creating a brand for your company, which in our case is SMU Fashion Week. A kick-off party is a great way to create buzz about the week to come, and we are so lucky to have Tootsies sponsoring the party – they are a notable and loved Dallas retailer.

Right now the weather is a beautiful 80 degrees and perfect for the hi-low skirt I am planning to wear tonight! I can’t wait to see everyone in their spring best. I’ll check back in when I get to Tootsies to set up.
