Suzanna Makkos ’97

Suzanna Makkos has been promoted to executive vice president for comedy development and programming by Fox Broadcasting Company. She previously served as senior vice president for comedy development. In that role, she cultivated live-action and animated comedies, including the comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which won a 2014 Golden Globe Award, as well as the comedies New Girl, The Mindy Project, Bob’s Burgers and Dads. Prior to her role in development, Makkos served as a current programming executive at the network, covering comedies such as Arrested Development, Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle and The Bernie Mac Show, as well as the dramas Prison Break and Boston Public. Before joining Fox, Makkos began her career in development and current programming at Walt Disney Television/Touchstone Television and Regency Television. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in history from SMU’s Dedman College
