Miranda Parham ’13

May 12, 2017

Miranda Parham stars in Gentleman’s Fury, a feature film premiering May 23 on Vimeo.

The comedy centers on a professional tennis player whose temper gets him kicked off the circuit and lands him in unexpected company. The comedy will be released the day after the French Open starts, kicking off the summer tennis season.

Parham plays Kathleen, described as his “entitled and pushy fiancé.”

“I had a great time breathing life into this unapologetically awful character who thinks that everything she does is golden,” Parham says. “My favorite Kathleen line is, ‘That’s not going to get me my condo in Brentwood.’ Yeah, that pretty much sums up her priorities.”

The busy actress is on the performance track at The Groundlings School in Los Angela, the famous improvisation and sketch comedy theatre whose alumni include Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig and Lisa Kudrow. She performs monthly at Open Space in West Hollywood with Invasion of Privacy, her Groundlings-based improv team. She has appeared in numerous independent films, television shows and theatre productions.

As a theatre student at SMU, Parham played the lead in Alice Underground, a play developed and directed at Meadows by Will Power in conjunction with his 2010 Meadows Prize.
