BirdsKermitCummingsKermit Cummings has written the children’s book A Backyard Birding Adventure: What’s in Your Yard? An avid birdwatcher, the octogenarian has penned a lighthearted introduction to 10 new feathered friends. Through rhyming text, the book entertains while informing children about how the birds look and sound, as well as their habits and habitats.

The book has been  featured in the Book Notes section of the January/February issue of Birdwatcher’s Digest. A story about Kermit and his book also was published in the Abilene Reporter-News in February.

Upon graduating from SMU in 1955 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Kermit was employed by Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co. He spent his career working with the firm in Texas, California, Georgia and Louisiana before retiring in 1993.
