Gary Jackson, a 1953 graduate of Lindale High School, has been honored as a 2015 recipient of the Lindale Independent School District Distinguished Alumni Award.

Jackson’s leadership qualities were recognized by his high school classmates, who elected him senior class president. After earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from SMU, he went on to earn his J.D. from Baylor Law School. Jackson served as a municipal judge in Arlington, Texas, as well as a trial attorney for the United States Justice Department. He also enjoyed a successful career as an attorney in private practice in Dallas and Lindale.

Jackson also distinguished himself in service to his country. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve for 30 years before retiring as a colonel.

He has received several awards for his accomplishments, including commendations from the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice. He was inducted into the Fort Benning Hall of Fame for his lifetime military and non-military achievements.
