OFF-CAMPUS CRIME ALERT

STUDENT ROBBED NORTH OF CAMPUS

An SMU student was robbed at gunpoint about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Rosedale Avenue between Airline Road and Durham Street north of the campus.

The student said that as she got into her car, another car pulled along side her. A man armed with a shotgun got out of the other car and ordered her to get out of her car. He then got into her car and drove off eastbound on Rosedale, followed by the other car.

She described her assailant's vehicle as a silver, older model, beaten-up four-door sedan. She said her assailant was a thin African American male about 5 feet 7 inches tall in his early to mid 20s. He had a short, buzz-style haircut but no facial hair and did not wear glasses. He was wearing a dark red shirt and blue jeans.

She could not describe the driver of the other car.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the the SMU Police Department at 214-768-3333.
