Registrar’s Office Now Can Send Student Transcripts Electronically

The SMU Registrar’s Office now offers students the option of electronic transcript delivery, ensuring that official transcripts can be sent to other institutions and third parties as quickly as possible.

Students and alumni who attended SMU after summer 1996 may request their official transcript as an electronic PDF document through the National Student Clearinghouse at www.getmytranscript.com. This service is not available for alumni who attended SMU before fall 1996.

Students who order their transcripts online should select the PDF option to have transcripts sent electronically and provide a valid e-mail address for the receiving party. The total cost is $16 per transcript per e-mail address.

Students are charged $10 for transcripts sent standard delivery via the U.S. Postal Service, plus a $2.25 processing fee. Students can choose to have their transcripts expedited via UPS to U.S. destinations for an additional charge of $25. For expedited international delivery, the additional charge is $43.

For more information, call 214-768-3417 or email registrar@smu.edu.

The Registrar’s Office also is able to accept electronic PDF transcripts sent through a secure means, such as Scrip-Safe. The office will not accept electronic transcripts sent by students.

Prospective undergraduate students can have their transcript sent to ugadmission@smu.edu, and continuing undergraduate students can have their transcript sent to registrar@smu.edu. Graduate and professional students have been directed to check with their academic dean’s office for more information.
