Provide a scanning station for SMU’s Archaeology Research Collections.

Description

SMU’s Archaeological Research Collections is in need of a Student Scanning Station to support advanced digitization of 3D images of Texas artifacts and archaeological archives by SMU undergraduate interns. We currently have the scanning equipment needed for this project, but lack a computer and dedicated space to train students on museum-quality photo-documentation and digitization. We are in need of a bench-top photo studio set up, a storage cabinet and a laboratory table and a dedicated computer.

“Right now, our students working within the Archaeology Research Collections operate off of flat tables. The scanning station is something we have needed for quite some time. A scanning station with shelving above maximizes our space and makes for an easier, faster 3-D scanning process”. Dr. Sunday Eiselt, Assistant Chair, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Anthropology
