Description

Schweitzer Fellows programs address unmet health and well-being needs in DFW communities. Your donations provide resources to create programs like a diaper bank in West Dallas, health and self-esteem classes for high school girls in South Dallas, a health coaching program for older adults, or wellness workshops for women at CitySquare.

  • $100 funds an expert speaker to help Schweitzer Fellows improve projects
  • $500 funds a “mini-grant” for Schweitzer Fellows to supplement their program with additional materials for participants
  • $1,000 allows the Schweitzer Fellows to develop a group day of service

“[The Schweitzer Fellowship] brought me face-to-face with the real life health disparities that many U.S. citizens encounter, whether it is through access to care, or the basic understanding of what that care means for a person and their family. Through this experience, my knowledge of health disparities was broadened, and I am now more challenged and determined to do my part in decreasing these issues. In all, the experience was a life changing one. I went into it as a person who was simply going to change this community but came out as a person who was changed by the community.”
— Chloe Rogers, 2016-2017 Schweitzer Fellow
