Come out for the LGBT Equality Forum and Drag Bingo

$5,000

Help the LGBT Equality Forum and Drag Bingo become a tradition on campus.

Description

The LGBT Equality Forum is an SMU conference about the LGBT community. Its focus is to spotlight the experience, research, leadership, art, and performance of LGBT folks across SMU, Dallas, and the nation. Drag Bingo is a campus-wide drag show hosted by Spectrum, SMU’s LGBT student organization. We also want to expand our transgender program and create more programing around Trans Day of Visibility and Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Goals for Mustangs Give Back

  • Expand the LGBT Equality forum
  • Fund the Jaime Shim LGBT Excellence Award
  • Fund Drag Bingo
  • Create more programs for Transgender Day of Visibility and Transgender Day of Remembrance

This year we have received a matching gift in memory of Jaime Shim from Michael Robertson, so all funds raised could have triple the impact!

“Drag Bingo and the LGBT Equality Forum are two of the main public events about LGBTQ culture on campus. Drag bingo brings a wide array of students together who have never been exposed to LGBTQ/drag culture. The LGBT Equality Forum allows us to bring speakers on the cutting edge of the LGBTQ rights movement and discuss the events currently happening in our country and our world.”
