eduroam Provides Secure Wi-Fi When Roaming

eduroam logo eduroam logoIf you like your Wi-Fi to be secure when roaming, you are not alone. The eduroam network, short for education roaming, is available here on the SMU campus and now at over 1,000 other colleges, universities, and research facilities in the US. Starting in 2009, this encrypted Wi-Fi network was designed for research and education institutions to allow students, employees, and guests to use their institution’s ID and password to connect securely and seamlessly to the Internet using the eduroam network while visiting other institutions. Securely Connect to the SMU Networks

SMU WirelessThere are several options for connecting to the SMU campus network once you are on campus. To securely connect your computer or mobile device wirelessly, choose the PerunaNet Wi-Fi network, and log in using your SMU ID and password. Of course, the wired network will provide the best performance and security.

Please Note: Wireless printers and certain smart devices, such as voice-activated assistants, smart TVs, and gaming consoles, will need to be registered and connect to SMU_Guest. In addition, personal routers are not permitted on any SMU networks and will be disconnect from the network once detected.

Also, if the wireless goes down in your room, please call 214-768-HELP. We can fix it, but only if we know about it.
