Celebrating Five Years of OIT’s Student Advisory Board
Here at OIT, it is one of our highest priorities to listen to our campus community; discover how they use technology in their work, and learn about their needs and desires for the short and long term. We do this in many ways, including through our multiple IT governance committees. Five years ago, a Student Advisory Board (SAB) was created to provide a way for our most spirited and dedicated Mustangs to provide their first-hand insights on how technology impacts their SMU experience. Client Services Leader Receives President’s Award for Innovation
Lauren Nelson, Assistant Director of Client Services for OIT, received the Presidential Recognition Award for Innovation during the October 18th Staff Convocation. The award honors a staff member who has contributed significantly to the University by improving efficiencies and processes. Research and Data Science Services Launch NVIDIA DLI Workshops
OIT’s Research and Data Science Services Team, in coordination with NVIDIA and Center for Research Computing, is offering two new free NVIDIA DLI workshops to the SMU community. These all-day workshops will provide the foundations for using multiple GPUs on a single computer with Nvidia CUDA and how to speed up data engineering tasks using GPUs. In addition, those who successfully complete the workshop assessment will receive an NVIDIA DLI certificate.
