CrashPlan Pro Deployment Expanding in 2018

CrashPlan ProCrashplanSMU’s enterprise desktop backup solution, has been available for faculty/staff computers for several years on an opt-in basis.  Employees who wished to enable the backup system were required to install the software from the LANDesk/Ivanti software portal and sign in to trigger the backup process. The Opt-in process will be moving to an automated solution.

In order to adhere to SMU policy 12.3 and ensure employee files are protected and recoverable in the event of a hardware failure, CrashPlan Pro will now be deployed automatically to faculty and staff computers.  Over the past several weeks, we began the deployment to Windows 7 devices.  We are now ready to begin expanding the automated deployment to Apple computers and Windows 10.  Faculty and Staff can install the software manually, if needed, at any time via LANDesk/Ivanti.
