LANDesk is Now Ivanti: What to Expect

Ivanti LogoLANDesk has been SMU’s software management platform for many years, providing on-demand software distribution, inventory management, and software updates to most computers on campus.  LANDesk was recently acquired by Ivanti, an international IT asset management company.

The LANDesk product is transitioning into the Ivanti brand. This summer, the changes that you will eventually see on your computer include the LANDesk Workspaces folder being replaced by Ivanti Management. The actual self-service program is unchanged except for a new logo. While the name has changed, the functionality will remain largely the same. You will be able to install software on your computer in the same way you always have. No action is needed on your part during the transition process.
