SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several campus buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on Thursday, August 17, 2017, starting approximately at 8 p.m. and is expected to be completed by 6 a.m. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

As part of campus construction activities, electrical service will be shut off to the following campus buildings on Thursday, Aug. 17, starting at 8 p.m. Site lighting in these areas will also be affected and supplemental lighting will be provided as necessary. This work has been closely coordinated with facilities managers to minimize the disruption.

- Harold Clark Simmons Hall
- Airline Parking Center
- Fondren Science Building
- Dedman Life Sciences Building
- Storey Hall
- Carr Collins Hall
- Dallas Hall
- Heroy Hall
This shutdown will also impact network connections in the buildings. If you continue to have networking issues 30 minutes after the power has been restored, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP.
