Electrical Service Shutdown to Impact Networking on July 2 and July 5, 2017

SMU buildings impacted by shutdown on July 02 2017SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several campus buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on Sunday, July 2, 2017, starting approximately at 11 p.m. and is expected to be completed by 6 a.m. This effort will be continued on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, starting at 11 p.m. and, again, ending at 6 a.m. the following morning. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

As a part of campus construction activities, electrical service will be shut off to the following campus buildings on Sunday, July 2, and Wednesday, July 5, each starting at 11 pm and all completing by 6 am.

Site lighting in these areas will also be affected and supplemental lighting will be provided as necessary. Offices in these buildings should remember to shutdown computers and printers prior to the electrical service being shut off.

This work has been closely coordinated with Conference Services, Residence Life, and Student Housing, and the appropriate facilities managers to minimize the disruption.
