Electrical Service Shutdown to Impact Networking on May 23

Buildings impacted by Shutdown on May 23, 2017SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several campus buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, starting approximately at 10 p.m. and is expected to last until Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 6 a.m. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

As a part of campus construction activities, electrical service will be shut off to the following campus buildings on Tuesday, May 23 starting at 10 p.m. Site lighting in these areas will also be affected.  Offices in these buildings should remember to shutdown computers and printers prior to the electrical service being shut off.  Power should be restored by 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 24.

This shutdown will also impact network connections in the buildings. If you continue to have networking issues 30 minutes after the power has been restored, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP.
