Electrical Service Shutdown to Impact Networking on March 31.

SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on Friday, March 31, 2017, starting approximately 11 p.m. The shutdowns will be in three phases and will affect electricity, networking, and lighting within the building and the surrounding area. Each of the three outages is expected to last 90 minutes. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

Phase 1

Start Time: Start between 11 p.m. and midnight
Buildings: OAC North, Greer Garson

Phase 2

Start Time: Upon completion of Phase 1
Building: OAC South, Hamon, Martin, Hawk, Kirby, Selecman, Prothro, Moore, Smith Hall, Perkins Hall, Perkins Chapel, Bridwell Library

Phase 3

Start Time: Upon completion of Phase 2
Building: Cockrell-Mc, McElvaney, Morrison-McGinnis, Barr Pool, Ford, Pettus Field, Westcott, Loyd All Sports, Meadows Garage, Meadows Museum

This shutdown will also impact network connections in the buildings. If you continue to have networking issues 30 minutes after the power has been restored, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP.
