Electrical Service Shutdown to Impact Networking on January 19.

SMU Buildings and Roads has circulated a notice that electrical service will be shut off to several campus buildings as a part of campus construction activities. The shutdown will begin on Thursday, January 19 starting approximately at 7 p.m. and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. Offices in these buildings should remember to shut down computers and printers before the electrical service being shut off.

Buildings impacted by electrical service shutdown

  • Fondren SIC
  • Annette Caldwell Simmons Hall
  • Harold Clark Simmons Hall
  • Dallas Hall
  • Storey Hall
  • Carr Collins Hall
  • Dedman Life Sciences Building
  • Fondren Science Building
  • Heroy Science Hall

This shutdown will also impact network connections in the buildings. If you continue to have networking issues 30 minutes after the power has been restored, please contact the IT Help Desk at 214-768-HELP.
