Expanded ePAF Services to Include Temporary Staff as of May 8, 2017

The Payroll Office is pleased to announce the launch of the Temporary Staff ePAF.  The form, which will be available for access as of May 8, 2017, is the third type of PAF record to use the improved process, first implemented in 2016.  Prior ePAF implementations include Student Worker and Adjunct Faculty.

The Temporary ePAF supports temporary employees hired by SMU (to include student and graduate student workers not enrolled in summer classes); not temporary employees hired via our temporary staffing partner Kelly Services.

Managers may access the form in my.SMU under Manager Self-Service > eForms WorkCenter.

Access to view the new ePAF form

Already have access to Student Worker and Adjunct Faculty ePAFs under the eForms WorkCenter in my.SMU.edu because you completed the required training?

No additional training is required and you should be able to access the Temporary Staff ePAF on May 8th.

Don’t have access to Student Worker and Adjunct Faculty ePAFs under the eForms WorkCenter in my.SMU.edu?

If you have not yet requested access or completed the training to use the new ePAF process, you will need to request permission via an OIT Help Desk ticket:

Go to the OIT website and click “Online Support Center” or “Open a Ticket”

  • From your support center, select “Payroll/TimeAccess” from the left-hand side menu
  • Select “ePAF Permissions”
  • Click “Save”

The OIT Help Desk with notify you regarding access to the training and provide further instructions on next steps.

What happens if I have PAF records under the prior process on May 8?

The prior PAF site, located under Manager Self Service>Self Service>Electronic Requests, will remain available to users for the following purposes:

  • the completion of approvals of already submitted records until they are completed
  • viewing historical PAF records

The option to submit new Temporary Staff PAFs in this location in my.SMU.edu was disabled as of May 8th and will no longer be available for the submission of new records.

Questions should be directed to the Payroll Help Desk at payroll@smu.edu or 8-2073.
