A Welcoming Community

With SMU having such a remarkably beautiful campus, people in the Highland Park community enjoy walking, biking, rollerblading and much more through our tree-lined campus. It is not uncommon for SMU students to see young children riding their bikes through campus on their way or coming home from school. Families enjoy pushing their babies in strollers and walking along their dogs. I love this factor and this just attributes to the safe, welcoming community that SMU sits within. Below you will find a picture of my girl, Heidi (a 1 1/2 year old yellow labrador-pointer mix). This picture was taken my freshman year at SMU. I love bringing Heidi to SMU’s campus to play fetch or simply take a walk. However, I am not so sure that campus police enjoy watching her frolick in the fountains as much as I do… But, what can I say?
