Mustang Pride

By Natalie Sharp

Our SMU Mustangs had a fabulous win this past Saturday night in our very own Gerald J. Ford Football Stadium! The football team really gave their fans something to cheer about with a win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham with the final score being 28 to 7! At SMU, we like to say, “We don’t tailgate, we boulevard!” If you have never been to our campus, the boulevard is the main strip of land that runs from the very most southern point of campus to the most northern point of campus. This is where we do our “tailgating.” In Texas, we love our football so much so that fans will bring out their big screen televisions to the boulevard and watch a football game before ours. Along the boulevard, you will be sure to find great people, great food, great music and great fun. It is not unusual to find people heading out to the boulevard at least three hours before game time. This Saturday we play Washington State and are hoping for another big win! With a winning season, comes a supportive community. This weekend I was out shopping and a local store had this in their window display!
