Hi! Hope y’all are having a great start to the week! Humid, humid, humid and pollen, pollen, pollen is the name of the game around campus lately!

Tonight, campus is hosting a Tate Lecture with special guest Kenneth Cole, and I have tickets! So excited! The Tate Lecture Series is an incredible long-standing event on campus. There are monthly lectures that take place in McFarlin Auditorium. The speakers? Ranging from Quincy Jones, Anderson Cooper, Buzz Aldrin, Clarence Thomas, Tony Blair, Kenneth Cole and, in a few weeks, former President and Mrs. Bush. The cast of characters over the past few years has been incredible. Tickets sell out almost immediately for these lectures as members of the surrounding Park Cities and greater Dallas community are invited to come listen. So what about the students? Each afternoon before the evening lecture, the guest speaker hosts a student forum in the Hughes Trigg ballroom that’s open to all students on campus! Imagine sitting in a ballroom, only a few rows from the front, about 20 feet, from some of those forementioned guests with the opportunity to ask questions of them. What an incredible opportunity! How amazing is it to be able to go back home and be like “oh yeah, no big deal, I sat a few feet from Buzz Aldrin, then asked Clarence Thomas a question the next month and listened to Kenneth Cole last weekend, just another day in the life of an SMU student”.

Hope everyone’s decision making is going well, just a few more weeks! You’re in the home stretch! Let us know if there’s anything we can help with! Have a great week y’all! Pony Up!
