Deadline extended for 2011 Rotunda Outstanding Professor nominations

Due to the week of inclement weather, SMU’s Rotunda yearbook staff is extending the deadline for 2011 Rotunda Outstanding Professor Award nominations to Friday, Feb. 11.

The annual honor recognizes faculty members whose commitment to teaching excellence is reflected in their classroom instruction and in their interaction with students. All students, faculty and staff may submit nominations.

To nominate a member of the faculty, complete a nomination form (PDF format) and return it via campus mail to SMU Box 750456 or to the Rotunda office in 314 Hughes-Trigg Student Center. Forms also may be e-mailed to Rotunda Editor-in-Chief Whitney Van Way.

Copies of the form also are available in 314 Hughes-Trigg and can be found in The Daily Campus on select days.

When submitting the form, please include information demonstrating the quality and excellence of the nominee’s performance inside and outside the classroom.

All nominations will be reviewed by a faculty committee, which may request additional supporting information from the head of the nominee’s academic department, academic colleagues, Student Affairs, staff members and others.

Winners will be announced at the 2011 SMU Awards Extravaganza on April 18 and will be featured in Rotunda 2011.
