New and updated SMU Facts map available for 2017; order by Monday, April 17

SMU Facts Map 2016, 400 pxThe SMU Facts map has been updated for 2017, and it’s now available for order.

The map folds down to a compact 3- by 6-inch size. On one side, a three-dimensional view of campus offers information about each SMU school, Mustang athletics, the Meadows Museum and the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

The other side has vital statistics about University facilities, finances and student body, as well as important information about rankings, libraries, student life, alumni, research activity and much more – plus new and updated information on degrees conferred, external research funding, DFW alumni and other vital statistics.

Print copies are still 25 cents each, and there is no minimum order. Maps are expected to arrive by early May.

To order copies, please send quantity and account number to Lisa Barnes, marketing services director, by Monday, April 17, 2017.

SMU Night at the Dallas Mavericks, Feb. 13, 2017The Dallas Mavericks and FOX Sports Southwest welcome the University community to SMU Night on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017.

As part of the team’s College Spirit Nights, the Mavs are offering discounted tickets to their game against the Boston Celtics. The first 250 SMU students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators and friends to buy a ticket package will also receive a special Mavericks caps featuring the Peruna logo.

Spring 2017 General Faculty Meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 25

The Spring 2017 General Faculty Meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 25 in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center Theater. The meeting begins at 3:45 p.m, preceded by a reception in the theater foyer at 3 p.m.

Faculty Senate President Jeanne Stevenson-Moessner will give the Senate report, and Provost Steven Currall will deliver the Spring Faculty Address.

Also scheduled is the annual presentation of the Golden Mustang Faculty Award for a junior faculty member who demonstrates high achievement as a scholar and teacher, the President’s Associates Outstanding Faculty Award recognizing the distinguished achievements of a tenured faculty member, and the Provost’s Teaching Recognition Award honoring excellence among full-time non-tenure track faculty members.

Prepare for merriment: President and Mrs. R. Gerald Turner host their annual All-University Holiday Celebration from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the Martha Proctor Mack Ballroom, Umphrey Lee Center.

The SMU community gathers after December Commencement for refreshments, holiday music and conversation with friends old and new. See you there!
