Think Pink: For the fourth year in a row, SMU Volleyball is partnered with the Side-Out Foundation and Dig Pink campaign to raise breast cancer awareness. They are dedicating their home match Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 against Tulsa to this cause. If you are attending the 7 p.m. match please wear pink. You can also donate online to support our Mustangs and breast cancer awareness. SMU women’s soccer is also raising breast cancer awareness with a pink out for their Sunday game against Memphis. The game is on Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
SMU Classic: SMU women’s swimming and diving will host the 2012 SMU Swim Classic Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20. This meet will feature six nationally-ranked swim teams from six different conferences: USC, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Louisville and SMU. The SMU classic requires every team to have a representative in each race ensuring a versatile and exciting competition. The weekend begins Friday with an opening ceremony in Perkins Natatorium at 6:15 and meet start time of 6:30 p.m.
Tennis Tournaments: SMU women’s tennis will be in Waco Oct. 19-23 for the 2012 ITA Regional. Senior Edtya Cieplucha enters the weekend after winning the singles title and finishing runner-up in doubles with Heidi Stewart at the Rice Invitational. SMU men’s tennis will be in Forth Worth for the Texas Regional hosted by TCU Oct. 20-23.
Youth Night: SMU men’s soccer will face Missouri State on Sunday, Oct. 21. The Mustangs will play at home after winning on the road Wednesday against FIU. The men are now at a 9-3-2 record for the season. The game Sunday is youth sport night and any child 12 and under wearing a youth sports jersey will receive free admission; the game starts at 7 p.m. at Westcott Field.
