Sports: Saintus posts first hat trick for men’s soccer since 2004

Dane SaintusSenior forward/midfielder Dane Saintus (left) scored three goals against Centenary to post SMU’s first hat trick since 2004 and power the men’s soccer team to a 4-1 win at Westcott Field Sept. 30. It was Saintus’ second multi-goal game of the 2009 season; he scored twice during the Mustangs’ 3-2 victory over Yale Sept. 13. Read more.

The women’s soccer team hosts Rice and Houston Oct. 3-4 to start the home portion of its 2009 Conference USA schedule. The Houston match, which begins at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 4, will be televised on CBS College Sports. SMU holds 9 wins against Houston without a loss or tie, its best record against any program. Read more.

The football team meets longtime rival TCU in the 2009 State Farm DFW Duel/Battle for the Iron Skillet Oct. 3. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Amon G. Carter Stadium. The game will be broadcast on The Mtn. as well as on KTCK Radio (1310 AM). Find more information at SMU Gameday.
