Mustang legends Louie Kelcher and Jerry LeVias are serving as team captains for SMU’s 2009 season ticket sales campaign. The campaign has two goals: to increase the number of season tickets sold, surpassing last year’s near-doubling of the 2007 total; and to help achieve one of the largest increases in NCAA Division I football attendance in 2009.
The campaign is working alongside the Sellout 2009 initiative, which intends to generate the largest crowd in Gerald J. Ford Stadium history for the Sept. 5 opener against Stephen F. Austin. The current stadium record is 34,689.
Other former SMU stars serving as campaign captains include Chris Bordano, Mike Romo and Mike Richardson, among others. Each team captain has recruited a four-person team and will compete to make the most sales per team. Read more.
