Kim EdwardsAuthor Kim Edwards – whose debut novel, The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, became the biggest selling book of 2006 – will participate in a lecture and booksigning sponsored by Friends of the SMU Libraries at noon Oct. 25 in the Umphrey Lee Ballroom.

Edwards will discuss her bestselling novel as well as her recently reissued short story collection, The Secrets of a Fire King. The Memory Keeper’s Daughter simultaneously reached the No. 1 spot on The New York Times, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly and Book Sense bestseller lists. Thirty-five weeks after its debut, the book is still on top of the New York Times list, with 3.5 million copies currently in print. The Secrets of a Fire King, originally published in 1997, was an alternate for the PEN/Hemingway Award and was reissued in May 2007 by the Penguin Group.
